There are two commonly used driving methods in non-standard automation equipment: cylinder drive and motor drive. If the motion mechanism walks a fixed distance each time, we will choose Qigong drive; When the distance of the motion mechanism is not fixed each time, or the accuracy of multiple walks or walking is very high, we will choose the motor drive. This is a simple way to judge when choosing cylinder drive or motor drive. This section mainly describes the cylinder selection steps. Cylinder selection steps mainly include the following seven steps:

1, determine the cylinder series: the cylinder has standard cylinder, thin cylinder, three-axis cylinder (there are two guide rods, the cylinder can withstand radial force), pneumatic finger, rodless cylinder, rotary cylinder, pen cylinder, pneumatic slide table, etc. There are many kinds of cylinders, which need to be selected according to their own functions, for example, the actuator needs to rotate, we can choose the rotary cylinder, or you can choose the standard cylinder, one end of the cylinder can choose the other end of the floating installation to achieve the purpose of rotation; Equipment space is limited, we can choose space-saving thin cylinder; Cylinders to withstand radial forces, we can choose three-axis cylinders and so on.

2, determine the cylinder diameter: To determine the cylinder diameter, we must first know the actual load F, the cylinder to withstand the pressure P. Then, we can use the formula F=PπDD/4 to calculate the theoretical cylinder diameter D, take a safety factor, and choose the appropriate cylinder diameter.

3, stroke determination: the cylinder stroke is determined by the movement distance of the actuator, how long the actuator needs to move, and how long the cylinder will choose.

4, the installation method is determined: the cylinder installation method has horizontal, vertical and inclined installation. The installation method needs to be determined according to the actual application. For example, if the actuator wants to move horizontally, we can install it horizontally. The actuator should move vertically, and we can install it vertically.

5, determine the cylinder joint: the cylinder joint has I type, Y type, fish eye and floating joint.

6, magnetic induction switch selection: magnetic induction switch has NPN type and PNP type, most of us use NPN type; There are various shapes of magnetic induction switches, and various installation forms on the cylinder, which need to be selected according to the installation space.

7, buffer form: the cylinder has gas buffer, hydraulic buffer, rubber buffer. When the cylinder is moving at low speed, we generally choose gas buffer or rubber buffer; We choose hydraulic cushioning when the impact of high-speed movement of the cylinder is large. Some hydraulic buffer gas is relatively long, we can also use hydraulic buffer to shorten the movement distance of the cylinder.
